I am delighted to join you again in Chicago as we "Empower Patients and Partners in Care." There is no better place to reconnect with colleagues and rejuvenate your spirit than RSNA 2022.
Many volunteers assembled a stellar program filled with groundbreaking research and innovations in medical imaging, a wide range of educational sessions to refresh your skills, and countless chances to meet colleagues from across the field and around the globe.
The plenary program kicks off on Sunday afternoon with my President's Address, "Diagnostic Imaging: Value from the Lens of the Patient," immediately followed by Elizabeth Morris, MD, sharing her personal journey as a breast cancer patient. Pulitzer prize-winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, will take the stage on Monday to discuss the intersection of human health, medicine and science. Throughout the week we will also hear from radiology leaders including Reed A. Omary, MD, Quynh-Thu Le, MD, and our colleagues at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. Another highlight to note is "Medicare and U.S. Healthcare Policy: A National Conversation," a panel discussion on Tuesday afternoon.
Test your diagnostic chops at the ever-popular Image Interpretation Session and think on your feet while enjoying the entertaining team-based radiology game show. The popular Fast 5 session showcases five speakers taking five minutes each to present their vision for radiology.
Visit the new Learning Center Theater, where cutting-edge research on focused topics including COVID-19 will be highlighted. Be sure to explore the science posters and education exhibits across every subspecialty while you're there.
In the Technical Exhibits Halls, 650+ exhibitors will greet you with innovative products and services. Don't miss the Imaging AI in Practice demo to learn how AI can be embedded into your workflow and learn from the line-up of thought leadership presentations in the Innovation and AI theaters. On Wednesday afternoon enjoy complimentary refreshments at Last Call at the Exhibit Halls.
Finally, if you are joining us at RSNA After Dark, I hope you have a great time unwinding with friends old and new!
It has been an honor to serve as your president this year and I look forward to seeing you throughout the week.
Bruce G. Haffty, MD
