Residents and Fellows Connect Virtually at RSNA 2020

Wednesday, Dec. 02, 2020

While the Resident Social Hour took place online this year, it did not diminish the excitement of the participants who were from all around the world and at all levels of training.

The host and moderator for the event, Danielle E. Kostrubiak, MD, from University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, welcomed everyone. Participants could then enter breakout rooms for continued conversation and networking.  Several RSNA and ACR leaders participated in the breakout rooms, facilitating discussion and answering questions.

Participants talked about their favorite RSNA 2020 sessions so far and several made notes of on-demand sessions to watch later.  Trainees compared notes about how radiology education is similar and different around the world.  Several participants, who had never attended the in-person annual meeting, hoped to attend RSNA 2021 and connect with their peers in person.

For fun, several participants shared their ugly holiday sweaters. Numerous cats, dogs and other pets made impromptu photo ops fueling discussions about the importance of making wellness a part of radiology training.

Group chat discussions included sharing of personal social media pages and contact information, links to helpful education resources, including RSNA content, as well as discussions about favorite recipes.

Thank you to all the moderators for facilitating in the breakout rooms:
