The War on Alzheimer's Disease: Neuroimaging, Biomarkers and Genetics on the Front Lines
Andrew J. Saykin
Dr. Saykin will discuss the potential of precision medicine to improve early detection and treatment of AD and provide an update on national and global collaborative research initiatives. Dr. Saykin is the Raymond C. Beeler Professor of Radiology and Imaging Services and a professor of Medical and Molecular Genetics at Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine. He directs the IU Center for Neuroimaging and the Indiana Alzheimer Disease Research Center designated by the National Institute on Aging (NIA).

Charcot, The Iron Horse, and Creeping Paralysis: Good Science in the Treatment of ALS
Robert M. Pascuzzi, MD
Dr. Pascuzzi will discuss the scientific challenges of ALS and describe promising treatments beyond clinical management of symptoms. He contends that good science will lead to meaningful treatment and provide hope for patients. A professor and chair of the Department of Neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Pascuzzi focuses his research on therapeutic trials for conditions including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Lambert Eaton syndrome, and myasthenia gravis.
