Jennifer L. Kemp, MD, was elected to the RSNA Board of Directors and will serve as liaison for government relations.

Radiology is at a crossroads, facing a global shortage of radiologists and rising volumes that place greater pressure on timely and accurate patient care. While these challenges may seem daunting, I believe RSNA has both the influence and responsibility to lead our profession forward with vision and integrity,” Dr. Kemp said. “Through RSNA, I hope to guide radiology in a direction that not only ensures our patients continue to receive the highest quality of care but also strengthens the voice of radiologists in shaping our future and affirms RSNA’s role as the trusted leader of our field.”
Dr. Kemp is chair of quality at Diversified Radiology of Colorado in Denver. She specializes in body imaging and leads practice-wide efforts to enhance patient care and safety. A nationally recognized expert in patient-centered radiology, Dr. Kemp is known for her pioneering work in promoting communication between radiologists and patients and implementing patient-friendly reporting practices.
Over her distinguished career, Dr. Kemp has held numerous leadership roles. At Diversified Radiology, she served as vice president and board member for over a decade. She served several terms as chair of the Department of Radiology at Rose Medical Center in Denver. From 2021 to 2023, she held the endowed Borgstede Chair and served as vice chair of quality and operations at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Deeply involved in organized radiology, Dr. Kemp served on numerous committees for RSNA and the American College of Radiology. She chaired both the RSNA Public Information Committee and Patient-Centered Radiology Steering Committee, and she is a longstanding member of the RSNA Public Information Advisors Network. Dr. Kemp currently serves on the ACR Commission on Patient and Family-Centered Care.
A frequent invited speaker and published author, Dr. Kemp has advanced the field’s understanding of patient engagement in imaging. Her work was profiled in The New York Times and has influenced radiology practices across the country. Her national recognition includes the AuntMinnie Scientific Paper of the Year (2017), ACR Fellowship (2015) and repeated inclusion in the “Top Doctors” list in 5280, a Denver-focused magazine.
Dr. Kemp earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and her medical degree from the University of Kansas, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her diagnostic radiology residency at the University of New Mexico, where she served as chief resident and was named Resident of the Year, followed by a fellowship in body imaging at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
In 2022, Dr. Kemp completed a fellowship in Health Quality Leadership at the University of Colorado's Institute for Healthcare Quality, Safety, and Efficiency.
